These days, festivals of all kinds are held up and down the length and breadth of Great Britain and further afield. Popular festivals include music festivals quickly followed by country and art festivals. Festivals are now so popular they are becoming a lifestyle. If you are a festival goer, it is best to prepare for almost anything. The weather can throw a curve ball or two, but generally, the UK weather is pretty good in summer. When the temperature rises, and you are in crowds, it is nice to smell nice.

Adding a fragrance to your festival gear is a must. You can even say it is essential.

Fresh and aquatic notes are important. Look out for fragrances with citrus essential oils at their heart. Floral scents are also popular. But, they have to be stronger. Don’t forget summer air is much more fragrant when compared to winter and autumn. For the summer nights, you need a few dusky and musky notes for extra interest.

The best time to buy your summer fragrances is in May or June. When you buy your summer fragrances before the season kicks off in earnest, they should last all summer. In the UK, the warmer weather normally lasts from July through to the middle of September. Occasionally, the UK gets an Indian summer in October. However, if you count on your fragrances lasting for about three months, you have probably timed it right. Remember that if you go to summer weddings, you may want to buy a special men’s fragrance.

One of the things you don’t want to do is to overshadow the bride and groom. Of course, you want to look your best and smell your best. Just remember it is their day, Many brides don’t want to go over the top with their fragrance. I have had many perspective brides tell me they don’t want to be “the Hostess with the Mostest.” I get it. You want your guests to remember your dress instead of your perfume.

Doing research online is a great idea. But, if you are not sure what scents (smells) you like, it is a good idea to try perfumes in a store. Prices may be higher than online, however, you can go home and order the perfume you like. Consider the occasion. When are you going to wear the perfume? You may not want to wear the same perfume going out with your friends as when you go for Sunday dinner with your family.

There is a flipside to everything including men’s fragrances. I know many men like to wear masculine, musky colognes. That’s great. But, there is a time and place for musky colognes.
