Donna Karan doesn’t shy away from the fact that New York was both the city she was born and the city she takes most of her inspiration from. In fact, her DKNY Be Delicious fragrance which took off in 2004, is bottled in a Big Apple in homage to her city and to recognise the difference between her brand and the European fashion houses. 

Apple DKNY fragrance as it’s known to those that aren’t quite in the know, came some 15 years after Donna Karan’s first catwalk show, but helped her connect with younger females with a fragrance that was sensually floral. Remarkably, two bottles of Be Delicious are sold every minute. 

The Be Delicious range has since increased to include Red Delicious, Golden Delicious (a line-up that would make any orchard grower proud), a men’s edition and DKNY Be Delicious Skin, a unique DKNY perfume that moisturises and hydrates the skin. It was cleverly marketed as DKNY fragrance with benefits.

DKNY Be Tempted is the most recent release. Launched in 2016, it is predicted that this will also become a range just like Be Delicious.

Unsurprisingly, DKNY perfume is part of the Estee Lauder portfolio.
