Paco Rabanne Perfumes

Paco Rabanne’s upbringing was fascinating and harrowing. Born in Spain, he was forced to flee to France after his Republican Colonel father was executed. The French influence immediately took hold, inspiring Rabanne to study architecture but pursue his passion for fashion.

His career started to take off when he received praise for his work designing jewellery for Givenchy, Dior, and Balenciaga. Based on the experienced, the fashion house Paco Rabanne was formed.

Fragrances and perfumes came earlier for Paco Rabanne than it did for other brands; the first release, Calandre (made in collaboration with fragrance company, Puig), hit the market in 1969 (it’s still available today). The opening women’s perfume was closely followed by the brand’s first men’s fragrance, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. Both of which were bold and dramatic for their time.

Other noted Paco Rabanne fragrances include XS Pour Elle, Paco (a fragrance that was bottled using recyclable metal), Paco Energy, Ultraviolet perfume for women, La Nuit Perfume and Liquid Crystal Perfume.

More recently, the range of Paco Rabanne colognes and Paca Rabanne perfumes has taken a Greek turn, with Olympéa and Invictus paying homage to power, prestige and myth.
