Viktor & Rolf Perfumes

The brand name Viktor and Rolf comes from the two founders and designers, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, who founded the company in 1993. 

The pair met at Art and Design School and bonded over their share design principles of  elegance, surprise and intrigue.  

After years of dominating Paris Fashion Week, Viktor & Rolf launched their first fragrance Flowerbomb. Released in 2005 to coincide with a Summer clothing line of the same name, the fragrance was a hit. Unsurprisingly, Flowerbomb is rich in rose, freesias and orchids; creating a scrumptious potion that layers and floats. Playing on the bomb reference, the Flowerbomb bottle is shaped like a grenade. 

The male equivalent of Flowerbomb is Spicebomb. Spicebomb was released in 2011 (coming after their first ever male fragrance, Antidote (2006)) and again flies in the face of tradition with no base notes, just a chilli, saffron, tobacco and leather extravaganza. The bottle is also shaped like a Grenade. 

Since then, limited editions of Flowerbomb and Spicebomb have been created, as have new women’s fragrances called Victor & Rolfe Eau Mega, Magic and Bonbon. 

All of them help to illustrate the tremendous collaboration between Victor & Rolf and L’Oréal.
