Anna Sui Perfumes

An American of Chinese descent, Anna Sui opened her first retail outpost in Soho in 1992. While finding her feet she managed to strike gold with incredibly popular handbags. All of a sudden, New York were desperate to get the next Anna Sui handbag.

So, naturally, Anna Sui used that success to create a fragrance with Wella. Anna Sui perfume for women was introduced in 1997, but the genius was in the Sui Dreams Eau de Toilette bottling. Shaped like the famous handbags that Anna Sui sold, the release in 2001 went nuts.

Appreciating that she was on to a winning formula, Anna Sui went on to use the physical bottles as the focal point of her fragrances. Using her reported wicked wit, Anna Sui released the Sui Love perfume in a bottle shaped like a butterfly, Dolly Girl (in a doll’s face shaped bottle), Flight of Fancy (in a peacock shaped bottle), Rock Me (in a guitar shaped bottle) and Secret Wish (in a fairy shaped bottle)

Forbidden Affair, Fantasia, L’Amour Rose and Romantica were relatively unspectaculary compared to the earlier line-up, but still retained the integrit of previous Anna Sui fragrances.
