Juicy Couture Perfumes

Juicy Couture was started by Gele Nesh-Taylor (the wife of Duran Duran’s John Taylor) and Pamela Skaist-Levy. Inspired by the laidback life of California, the brand became known for their tracksuits. Often velour and with the brand name printed cheekily on the back of the trousers.

After dominating the street clothing scene for years, Juicy Couture entered fragrance in 2006. The self-titled first release was created by Harry Fremont, was fruity, suggestive and sweet. It was also well-received by both critics and customers. In 2006, it was awarded the fragrance industry’s top honour – the FiFi Fragrance of the Year.

Hot on the heels of their success, the pair continued to churn out new fragrances with increasing efficiency. Many of which were named after famous West Coast areas including Juicy Couture La La, Juicy Couture Malibu and Juicy Couture Hollywood Royal.

Success also occurred in Europe and the Juicy Girl and I am Juicy perfume range quickly became the go to fragrance for a generation of young fans on both sides of the Atlantic.

Men weren’t excluded. The brilliantly named Dirty English cologne was presented in 2008 and marketed for bad boys. We doubt many bad boys bothered with fragrance at the time but if they did it was probably Juicy Couture.

As the brand continues to expand into canine clothing it will be interesting to see if their fragrance range follow...
