Barénia Eau de Parfum takes its name from the brand's most storied leather, the kind that softens and deepens with time rather than wearing out. The fragrance works the same way. Christine Nagel designed it to dissolve into skin rather than sit on top of it, and that's exactly what it does.

It opens with Calabrian Bergamot and a quiet touch of miracle berry, barely-there sweetness that clears the way for the heart. Butterfly lily takes centre stage there, a floral note so rare this is its first appearance in perfumery. Worth knowing. Worth smelling. The base settles into roasted oakwood and a dense patchouli absolute that gives the whole thing its quiet, earthy gravity.
